There is a Vision Correction option for everyone.
At Barnet Dulaney Perkins Eye Center we understand that everyone’s eyes are unique. This is why we offer multiple corrective procedures to cater to everyone’s individual vision needs. Good candidates for LASIK are usually in good general health, are at least 25 years old, are free from eye diseases including cataracts, are not pregnant or nursing and have a diagnosis for nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism. However, those with severe nearsightedness or farsightedness and those over the age of 45 are not likely to be eligible for LASIK and are better candidates for procedures like EVO ICL Lenses and Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE).
LASIK Alternatives
Not a candidate for LASIK? Don’t worry! We have other vision correction options that may be the right fit for you. EVO ICL Lenses are an excellent option for those with more severe nearsightedness or irregular corneas. The surgery is also fast, safe, and reversible. During the procedure the EVO ICL Lens is placed inside your eye, acting legitimately like a permanent contact lens. Another great option is Refractive Lens Exchange or RLE. For many patients looking for long-lasting vision benefits, RLE is a fantastic solution. The procedure is identical to Cataract Surgery, where the natural lens of the eye is replaced with an implant to correct your vision. The only difference is that in RLE Surgery, there is no cataract and the surgery actually prevents you from ever needing Cataract Surgery in the future.
